About

python-utcp is the official Python implementation of the Universal Tool Calling Protocol, an open standard for defining and calling tools across communication protocols. A core utcp package provides UtcpClient, Pydantic models and plugin interfaces, and protocol plugins add HTTP and SSE, CLI, MCP and text-file tools, with socket and GraphQL listed as in progress. Protocol plugins can be registered as shared instances or as per-client factories, so each client gets its own connections.
