# CSS Engineering

Reuse existing tokens and primitives. Prefer normal flow, Grid, Flexbox, logical properties, and intrinsic sizing before brittle coordinates or JavaScript layout.

Design from narrow to wide content constraints, not device names. Test long content, zoom, reduced motion, forced colors, and both pointer and keyboard states where applicable.

Keep selectors and cascade ownership local and predictable. Do not introduce a new styling system or arbitrary token when the repository already has a sufficient one.
