Can AI SEO Produce Leads in 15 Days? What the Evidence Shows
Possibly, but nobody can promise it. Gushwork, a vendor of inbound lead generation, reports first inbound leads at 10, 12, 13 and 75 days for its own clients (not Chalk Labs clients), and two of those figures clash with other timings on the same pages. Google says changes can take hours or several months. Treat a lead inside 15 days as luck, and plan for months. 2346
- Numbered first-lead times in published cases run from 10 to 75 days, but they come from one vendor's own cases, not a neutral study.
- Two headline figures, 12 and 13 days, conflict with other timings on the same pages.
- Google says a change can take hours or several months to show, and advises waiting a few weeks before judging.
- At small volumes a first lead is partly luck. Judge the channel by enquiries per month across months three to six.
- If you need leads within 15 days, use paid search or outreach while organic search builds behind it.
Can SEO really produce leads within 15 days?
Possibly, but nobody can promise it, so do not plan around it. The fastest numbered timings are first leads at 10, 12 and 13 days, and one case took 75 days. Gushwork published all of them for its own clients, not Chalk Labs clients. An inbound lead here means a buyer who contacts you after finding you online. 2346
Google gives a range, not a number. It says a change can show up within hours or take several months, and it suggests waiting a few weeks before judging the work. 8 By that rule, day 15 is too early to call a campaign a success or a failure. A single enquiry can still land by then. For the wider timeline, see how long AI SEO takes.
Our two published search cases cover one to 16 months of search performance. Neither reports a time to first lead, so they neither support nor rule out a lead inside 15 days, and we make no 15-day promise. 17
What do the published first-lead timings say, and do they agree?
They range from 10 to 75 days where a number is given, and John Maye Company says only "within days". Two headline figures disagree with the rest of their own pages. Gushwork sells inbound lead generation and publishes case studies about its own clients. These are third-party results, not Chalk Labs clients. We read six of its eight cases on 20 October 2026, and five say when the first lead came. The sixth case states no first-lead time, so it is not in the table. 120
In Gushwork's published cases, only Midwest Power Products is fully consistent. It says 10 days, and the rest of its page agrees. Meridian Packaging says 75 days, which matches its body ("two and a half months after going live"). But the same page says leads were coming in consistently by month three, and it also labels 180 days as the time to a consistent pipeline. 26
Two more clash on the first lead itself. On the Respect Manufacturing page, the top figure says 12 days, but the body says the first qualified lead arrived a month after the pages went live, and that it took 35 days to reach a qualified conversation. 3 On the Source Equipment page, the headline says 13 days, the page description says 68, and the body says leads began within a month of launch. 4 Both pages are published by Gushwork; we cannot tell which timing is right.
| Case | Headline first lead | Other timings on the page | Site before the work | Pages |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Midwest Power Products (gearboxes) | 10 days | 12 leads in month one | Live site, no inbound leads | About 100 |
| Respect Manufacturing (contract manufacturing) | 12 days | Body says one month, and 35 days | Live site, 10 to 20 visits a month | 101 |
| Source Equipment (material handling) | 13 days | Description says 68 days. Body says within a month | Placeholder site, 2 to 3 visits a month | 130 |
| John Maye Company (packaging equipment) | Within days | 25 or more leads in 30 days. Owner quote on the same page says 14 leads in 4 weeks | Live site, never a lead | Not stated |
| Meridian Packaging (distribution) | 75 days | Body says consistent leads by month three; headline says 180 days to a consistent pipeline | No online presence, per its page | 30 or more |
Do these cases show what is typical, and what is still unknown?
No. They show what one vendor says is possible. These are third-party cases, and Gushwork chose which ones to publish. Its index page carries no note that results vary. 1
Every figure is self-reported by a company that sells the service, and none of the six pages gives a sample size or an outside audit. 2345620 All six sell to businesses, so nothing here tells a clinic or a shop what to expect. They are still the only first-lead timings we hold. What we do not know:
- How many of Gushwork's clients saw a first lead late or never. Its published cases are third-party evidence and show only successes.
- What a qualified lead means on each page, and when each clock started.
- How soon a new page is first cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google's AI features. We found no reliable public number.
What do the fast cases have in common?
Three patterns show up, and none is proven as a cause. They come from five Gushwork-published cases, not Chalk Labs work. 23456 Treat them as things to check in your own situation. If you sell to manufacturers, see AI SEO for manufacturers.
- A website already existed in all four fast cases and had never produced an inbound lead, though Source Equipment's was a placeholder getting 2 to 3 visits a month. Meridian Packaging's page describes no online presence, and it was the slowest at 75 days. All are Gushwork's published cases. 23456
- They published many pages. The Midwest Power Products, Respect Manufacturing and Source Equipment pages describe about 100 to 130 pages each. Meridian Packaging's page describes 30 or more. These are Gushwork's published figures. 2346
- Buyers searched with narrow phrases. Examples from Gushwork's published cases include organic supplement manufacturing and custom molded bins for warehouses. Narrow phrases tend to face fewer strong pages, which may help new pages earn visits sooner. That is our reasoning, and the cases do not test it. 34
How long does each step from new page to lead take?
Each step has its own delay, and 15 days is shorter than the longest of them. A page must be published, crawled, indexed, matched to a real question, shown or cited, read, and acted on. Crawled means a search bot has fetched the page. Indexed means the search engine has stored it so it can appear in results.
Ahrefs measured how rare fast ranking is. In data from 2023, 1.74% of one million random new pages reached Google's top 10 within a year. In a second sample of two million pages, limited to non-empty English content, 6.11% did, which the author says might be a fairer number. Ahrefs also reports that 40.82% of pages that ranked in the top 10 did so within one month. 12 Random pages are not niche supplier pages, so read this as a warning about averages.
- Crawling: Google says crawling can take a few days to a few weeks after you ask, and that asking does not guarantee a page will be indexed. 9
- Discovery: IndexNow is a free ping that tells search engines a page changed. Its site says that without it, discovery can take days to weeks. Bing supports it; Google is not listed. 18
- ChatGPT search: OpenAI says a change to robots.txt, the file that tells bots which pages they may fetch, takes about 24 hours to reach its search systems. That covers access, not how soon a page gets cited. 11
- Google's AI features: a page must be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet. No extra markup or special files are needed. 10
Do AI assistants make the first lead come faster?
They might, but no one has published how much. Perplexity says it searches in real time, and OpenAI says its search bot surfaces websites in ChatGPT search. 1911 So a new page may be found without waiting for a model to be retrained.
Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode can run several related searches for one question, called query fan-out. 10 That may give a narrow page more chances to be pulled in. See query fan-out.
What is missing is the number of days from publishing to first citation. Ahrefs published 34 self-promotional pages about its own products on five domains, the first going live on 13 February 2026, but it does not report how many days passed before a page was first cited. Its share figures are monthly. 13
Does one AI citation mean the channel is working?
No, because citation share fades fast. A citation is a link an AI answer shows as its source. Profound studied 883,000 pages across seven answer engines and found the median page loses half its citation share within 11 days of peaking. The median time from first citation to that point was 42 days. Citation share is how often a page is cited relative to other pages in its category, so it can fall when rivals gain, not only when a page is dropped. 14
Ahrefs saw a similar pattern. In about one quarter of cases, a page was cited once for a query on one assistant and never again. 13 Both sources sell AI or SEO tools, and both are one-off analyses, so treat the exact figures as rough.
A citation on day 12 shows a page can be found, not that you have a pipeline. Count enquiries by page over several weeks, and keep publishing and refreshing. See AI SEO metrics that matter and what an AI citation is.
How many visits does it take to get one lead?
About 33 relevant visits per lead at a 3% enquiry rate, and many more at lower rates. The enquiry rate is the share of visits that become a lead. One agency's own data puts organic visitor-to-lead conversion for manufacturing at 3.0%. It publishes no sample size, and the page dates from October 2023, so use it as a rough guide only. 15
At small volumes the first lead is partly luck. With sixty relevant visits and a one percent rate, the chance of at least one lead is close to a coin toss. So a first-lead time says little, and enquiries per month across months three to six say more.
Now compare Gushwork's published figures. The Respect Manufacturing page reports over 200 monthly visitors by day 90 and 10 or more leads a month. The Source Equipment page reports over 600 visits and 40 or more leads. The John Maye Company page reports over 500 visits in 90 days and 25 or more leads in 30 days. 345
Taken at face value, those figures imply roughly 5% to 7% of visitors becoming leads, above the 3.0% benchmark. 15 That may be real, if supplier searches come from people ready to ask for a quote, but the pages give no evidence. It may also mean the pages count leads broadly, or measure visits and leads over different periods. The pages do not say. The John Maye Company page, published by Gushwork, itself quotes its owner as saying 14 leads in four weeks, so even its 25-lead figure is not firm. 5
- Assume 30 pages are indexed by day 10, each earning 2 relevant visits by day 15: 60 visits.
- At a 1% enquiry rate: 60 x 0.01 = 0.6 leads expected.
- Chance of at least one lead = 1 - 0.99^60 = about 45%.
- Made-up numbers to show the arithmetic. Replace them with your own.
| Share of visits that become a lead | Relevant visits needed per lead | Chance of at least one lead from 60 visits |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5% | 200 | 26% |
| 1% | 100 | 45% |
| 3% | 33 | 84% |
What do Chalk Labs' own results say about speed?
They cannot confirm or rule out a 15-day lead. Chalk Labs reports that Meru Trophy, a trophy shop in Bengaluru, went from near-zero search visibility to 27,300 Google clicks and 2.3M impressions over 16 months, at an average position of 6.9. That is a 16-month total, not a time to first result. 17
A second case, the personal site shilikajain.com, ranked first for the phrase Fractional PR Manager Crypto within a month of launch and logged 8.5k impressions in three months. That is a ranking for one narrow phrase, not a lead count, and no time to first enquiry is reported. 17
We have built an inbound plan and pitch for industrial companies, but we have not published industrial results of our own. Chalk Labs sells AI SEO, so weigh our view with that interest in mind.
What should you do if you need leads in the next 15 days?
Use a channel built for speed, and treat AI SEO as the slower one that builds behind it. Paid search shows your ad as soon as the campaign runs, and you pay for each click. In LocaliQ's 2026 benchmarks, the average cost per lead across industries was $66.69, and $75.19 for industrial and commercial. 16
Those averages come from thousands of one company's customer campaigns, so your cost will differ. 16 Cheaper routes exist too: ask past customers for introductions, call people who asked for a quote and went quiet, and answer every open enquiry within a day.
Then give organic search a fair window. Google suggests waiting a few weeks before judging. 8 One agency says not to expect much growth in organic traffic until four to six months into a new campaign. 15 That is one vendor's rule of thumb, not a Google figure. For the full trade-off, read AI SEO vs paid ads.
What can you do in the first 15 days to improve the odds?
Make sure every step in the chain can work, then publish the pages closest to a purchase first. No task here can guarantee a lead, but each removes a way to lose one.
The AI crawler checker tests whether AI bots can read your site. For a longer plan, see a 30-day AI SEO sprint.
- Day 1: Define a lead, name who checks enquiries each morning, and send a real test enquiry through every form and phone number.
- Day 1-2: Check robots.txt does not block Googlebot, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot.
- Day 2-7: Publish the pages closest to a purchase first: who makes it, price, comparison and fit.
- Day 3: Submit your sitemap, and send new URLs through IndexNow, which Bing and Yandex support [s18].
- Day 4-10: Use the URL Inspection tool in Search Console to request a crawl of your key pages.
- Day 8-15: Check which pages are indexed and visited. Add a 'How did you hear about us?' field listing ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google.
- Day 15: Count enquiries by page. Do not report rankings as results.
How do you judge any promise of leads in 15 days?
Ask where the clock starts, what counts as a lead, and how many clients got nothing. Google tells site owners to ask any SEO what results to expect, in what timeframe, and how success is measured. It also says no one can guarantee a number-one ranking. 7
Use these questions with any provider, including us. Our terms say we do not guarantee rankings, citations or lead counts, because search engines and AI models are third parties. To compare options, read how to hire an AI SEO expert.
- Where does day 0 start: contract signed, pages live, or first visit?
- What counts as a lead: any form fill, or a buyer someone on your team accepted as real?
- Can I see the raw enquiries with dates, not only a dashboard total?
- What was the site's traffic before the work, and how old is the domain?
- How many clients had no lead by day 30, and what happened to them?
- What do you promise in writing, and what do you refuse to promise?

Frequently asked questions
Can SEO get leads in two weeks?
Possibly. Gushwork published cases for its own clients, not Chalk Labs clients, with first leads at 10 to 13 days, and another at 75 days. Two of those figures conflict with other timings on the same pages. Most sites should plan on months, since Google says a change can take hours to months to show. 23468
How long does it take for a new page to rank on Google?
How fast will ChatGPT or Perplexity cite a new page?
Is paid search faster than AI SEO for leads?
Yes. Paid search shows your ad as soon as the campaign runs, but you pay for each click. LocaliQ's 2026 benchmarks put the average cost per lead at $66.69 across industries and $75.19 for industrial and commercial. AI SEO builds more slowly, and its pages can keep working without a per-click fee. 16
Does Chalk Labs promise leads in 15 days?
No. Our terms say we do not guarantee rankings, citations or lead counts, because search engines and AI models are third parties. Our two published search cases report no time to first lead, so we make no 15-day claim. 17
